Ever-Growing

By Ashley Wedge

Light comes and light goes.

Can starlight shine in the ever-darkened sky?

Crowded by the smoke of greed.

Be as it may, sleep evades once again.

Straightened my back, hardened my soul,

By the morrow, a new body grows anew.

It's a day, just like any other.

Shadow lines the light, starting the fight.
