Good Morning

Here it comes.

The morning sun.

With unbridled brightness that breaks through blinds.

The endless wailing of the warning alarm

And the questions asked at every dawn.

Can you do this?

Aren’t you just tired?

Can we quit just for today?

The alarms are forced into silence.

Missing the day’s obligations is rationalized.

Once again, I fail to rouse my spirit

And defeat my feelings of fatigue and utter despair.

After all the effort I gave.

I’m just drained.

A break is all I crave.
