I wish one day you could see

How you uplifted so many

Giving them false ideas of how the world would be

I remember telling my niece who was about three

How good green eggs and ham would be

Not realizing that she would actually believe me

Me, well you, cause I’m a thief

I steal joy, happiness, laughter, tears

Over the many years,

I stole all of my free time

Decided that I would be a multitasking college student

Didn’t realize that oh the places you’ll go

Was a book of false hopes and rhymes

You said my mountain awaited

Yet, I fell off trying to make it

Oh the places

The places that I should’ve went

The people that I should’ve seen

It’s ok Seuss

I know one thing

I… I have the brains in my head

And I decide where I’ll go
