Wednesday 23rd of October starts off on a foggy day.
The clock on the wall ticks every second.
Tick, tick, tick.
The only thing separating Mariah from John, was the smooth mocha colored table.
Tears roll down her eyes, not wanting to make this big decision.
Neither did John, but it was for the best.
John kneeling down on one knee ran through her head.
Also remembering right after what her mom said about him.
“Mija, you know those hombres blancos.”
“Si, si mami, I know.”
She knew all the repercussions, but she still wanted to be with him even
When he proposed.
If she knew her future would end up like this, then she would have never
Said, “Yes John.” With tears again rolling down her face.
He thought to himself, “Why?”
Just 5 years ago she promised on their honeymoon,
They would last forever. Nothing would ever make their
Love fade away.
But that’s just it. She made the promise it and broke it,
Not John.
“It had to be Daniel, from management. I should have never invited him over for dinner.”
He thought.
With all the anger left inside of him, he snatched the
The pen from Donna, his personal lawyer, and signed the document.
Then without realizing it, he slide the papers towards
Mariah. Like confetti, The papers actually fly in the air
And gently lay back on the table.
“See this is why it couldn’t work John! You’re such a child!
Her body started to shake. She too snatched the papers and signed the document.
“Mariah please, you never loved me. I was always a project to you. I bet you loved
That dude name Daniel or what’s his name?” John replied.
Mariah’s eyes opened with fear, staring at he dark ceiling.
She looked over to her right and saw the clock read 3:09am.
She also didn’t noticed that her heartbeat was racing like a horse.
Little did she know her dream was really her fate.
