Writing has been a profession that has been around for as long as humans have been around. From cave paintings on the walls to common day writing, written material has been around forever. And, for as long, authors have used their minds and their imagination to create worlds of all kinds. From a world that is not so different from ours to an entire universe where magic exists, these worlds are only limited to the imaginations of the creator. But why do so many of these worlds exist? What compels the authors to let their imagination run wild?

When it comes to creative writing, there are several benefits to allowing your mind to create what it does. For one, it can be therapeutic. Writing in general, even if it's just a small section on what you did that day, can be soothing. Sometimes, you can hold too many thoughts in your head that just stay there, which can clog your thoughts. Writing those down can help clear that up. This is especially helpful for those that easily get ideas in their head. Even if you don't end up completely writing the idea in your mind, jotting it down can be helpful.

Another benefit of creative writing is expressing yourself. Art in any form allows people to express their feelings in their own way, and writing is part of that category. In writing, anything is possible. Any creature can exist in the world of imagination, and people have created their works through these simple imaginations. Everyone has their own unique style in writing, and that can be shown by the stories you create.

Finally, it can be a nice pass time with. Writing can be a fun hobby that you can do anywhere. Even if you are not at home, you can simply pull out your phone and write something down in a note. It's also not affected by restrictions as anybody can write wherever they are.

Anyone can have their own reasons for writing, and their own reasons for why it benefits them. Each person is different, after all. What do you feel are benefits to creative writing? Feel free to share your own experiences and learn others.
