The art of writing goes beyond just putting words on a page. It can be a gateway to vocalizing your feelings and helping you to come to a better understanding of a situation that holds a lot of meaning and emotion. When an individual writes about a situation they are going through, it is very easy for them to finally feel a sense of relief; they become lighter, calmer, and finally back in control of their current circumstance.

One emotional benefit that writing has is stress relief. There have been plenty of studies conducted that have presented how writing about a difficult experience for just a short amount of time every day can minimize stress levels. For instance, when you are writing, you present your thoughts with a sense of direction and a destination to strive for. It is so easy for us to be complacent and stay trapped inside our thoughts, but by just writing what is going on inside our heads, we can make ourselves feel like our problems are finally manageable and can be resolved.

Additionally, writing can allow individuals to become way more emotionally intelligent and understand their feelings at a deeper level. When we feel upset, angry, or anxious but can never fully understand the reasoning behind these feelings, then we can resort to getting things down on paper. This allows us to express what is happening, the reaction that occurred, and then patterns will begin to form, which allows us to connect the dots and create an understanding. This sense of finally understanding can give us the first steps towards positive progress and change.

One of the biggest perks to writing is the increased confidence you feel within yourself. Say you are writing a blog; you go back and look at old work and evaluate how you have developed and grown more and more over time. This will create high self-esteem for someone to be able to understand that either their current or future problems can be conquered. Another positive to writing is the connection it can build with peers. When people share stories through blogs or on social media, this can aid so many readers and the writer themselves to know they are never alone.

All in all, writing brings such joy as it can be so creative in whatever form you desire to write in. You feel a sense of being free and care-free to express yourself and feel no judgment. Writing is so powerful for the mind, and no matter how much you do it, it will have such an impact on your mental well-being.
